Obituary for Barbara Maurer

Barbara Evelyn Maurer, 67, of Decatur passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2019  at Decatur Memorial Hospital.  

Barbara was born on December 17, 1951 in Decatur, Illinois the daughter of Robert Pete Gollahon and Beulah West.  

Barbara grew up in Decatur and was a former member of New Salem Baptist Church. 

She enjoyed sewing, reading and completing crossword puzzles.  She especially loved spending time with her family and talking on the phone. 

Barbara leaves to cherish her fond memories:  her daughters: Tanya (Javaun) Davis and Melody Allen both of Decatur, Illinois; stepchildren: Linda Joyner, Neisha (Will) Perry, Penny (William) Lee, Gordon Joyner and Phil (Ashley) Joyner;  grandchildren: Kiyondris (Misty) Joyner, Marquita Hightower, Derrick Taylor, Derriyana Taylor; niece, Crystal Carlson, nephew, John Gollahon,  special adopted son, De’Abrion Joyner, special loved ones Megan Ragsdale and Mary Hames.  

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert (Bob) Gollahon.
