Obituary for Wanna Dean Wheatley

Wanna Dean Robinson was born on October 18, 1932 to Curtis Robinson, Sr. and Lorraine Robinson in Fulton, Missouri. Wanna was the second child of 3 children. Katherine, Wanna and Curtis, Jr. They loved her dearly and proceeded her in death. 

She attended George Washington Carver Grade School and was bused to Lincoln Laboratory High School in Jefferson City Missouri, where she graduated. 

Wanna married Arnold Ray McBride, Sr. in 1948. To that union were born four beautiful children, Phyllis (Rudy), Arnold Ray (Bake), Karen Kay and Connie. He preceded her in death. 

She moved to Springfield, Illinois to live with her family. There she pursued a nursing career. She was accepted at Memorial School of Nursing where she graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was employed by Memorial Hospital as a Surgical Technician. 

Wanna met Fred Benny Wheatley (Buggs), a handsome soldier and in 1964 they were married. To that union she gained a daughter, Phyllis Patterson, of Indianapolis, Indiana. Phyllis proceeded her in death. 

They loved spending time with family and sports. They shared many hobbies together, fishing, playing cards with friends, and visiting casinos. Their great- est. joy, however, was traveling to Kansas City, St. Louis and other cities to see their son, Bake, play professional Baseball. What pride they experienced to see him at the National League Playoffs and the World Series games. Wanna also loved the westerns. Matt Dillion and Gunsmoke, John Wayne and Perry Mason were her favorite daily shows. She worked cross word puzzles, knitted, crocheted and was an avid reader of spy novels. 

On August 21, 2019, Wanna journeyed to Heaven to be with the Lord. She passed peacefully at Heritage Health Nursing Facility in Springfield, Illinois. 

Left to cherish her memory are her husband; Fred Benny; her children; Phyllis & Donald Butler, Arnold Ray McBride, Jr., Karen Kay Parker and Connie & John Heard, Alexandra Smith; an adopted daughter in love, Eleven (11) Grand Children, twenty - two (22) Great Grandchildren and Six (6)Great Great-Grandchildren, sisters-in-laws; Alberta Brown and Amelia Williams along with nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
