Obituary for Lloyd Hunter

Lloyd E. Hunter departed this life on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital at the age of 80.

Lloyd was born on June 9, 1938 in Jamaica. He grew up in Jamaica and received his education there.   He later moved to the United States where he met and married the love of his life Minnie Tyus.

He was employed by Norfolk and Southern Railroad where he worked 28 years as a railroad electrician.  He was a gifted in the area of electrical and carpentry work and enjoying building and fixing various projects.

Lloyd was a member of the House of Miracles Pentecostal Church where he served under the leadership of his brother-in-law, Pastor Leon (Shirley) Young. 

He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his wife of 33 years, Minnie Hunter of Decatur, IL; children: Gary Hunter and Polly of Toronto, Canada; stepchildren: Rodney Tyus and Tony Tyus both of Decatur, IL; a host of siblings, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents.
