Walker Funeral Service and Chapel, Inc. has been serving Champaign, Decatur and Springfield area families for years. We are honored to be a part of the rich history of this community and plan to be a part of it for many years to come.

In 1996, Dr. Thomas E. Walker, Senior Pastor and Founder of Main Street Church of the Living God and outstanding area businessman and community leader, along with his cousin, Deric C. Walker, Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, opened the doors of Walker Funeral Service and Chapel, Inc. located at 566 North Water Street, Decatur, Illinois. During the year of 1998, LaKeshia Fox-Mizell was added to the staff as a Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer. Dr. Walker had a vision to expand and with the advice from close friends in the Springfield, Illinois community who felt there was a need for the same professional, dignified, and compassionate service that Walker Funeral Service and Chapel, Inc. had committed itself to providing throughout the years in Springfield. In 2005, Walker Funeral Service and Chapel, Inc., Springfield opened its doors to the community located at 2300 East Cook Street. In 2013 Walker Funeral Service and Chapel, Inc. in Champaign, IL was opened.

Walker Funeral Service and Chapel, Inc. is a full-service funeral home offering affordable at-need, pre-need, and cremation services. We believe that every life should be “celebrated”. We encourage families to personalize and customize the services of their love one to reflect on their life lived and we take pride in being able to assist the family in this area. We also have licensed insurance agents on staff that can assist with burial insurance and life insurance.
